Week 2: Reading Assignment, Hog Futures.
the author discusses the issue of meat producers gaining productivity by swamping Eastern Euope and parts of Asia with U.S-grown, raised meat. The hogs produces a large amount of excrement, which contaminates groundwater, also produces a massive stench which fills the air. The high hog operation is greatest in areas with both proverty and high percentage non whites. Slaughter houses have alot of labor issues in the U.S ,Dangerous conditions are cheaper for the companies and the government does nothing to correct this issue. The meat industry is at a high rising industry. We can not let the U.S be known as the manure lagoon of the world. We as people of the U.S need to stand up and demand that there be something done on these issues of conditions.
Week 2: Reading Assignment. America, The Sexy Fasist State.
The author is implying U.S is obsessed with survalience, in many forms. And he feels invasion of privacy is being spread throughout the world. Which are not really supervised or the surveillance recordings are not watched more closely. Not enough man power to man the surveilance equipment. This is an invasion of our privacy, the tax payers are the ones who are at a loss, which the money could be used toward preventing the crime,instead of watching it.
An Online Course Is Quite Different From Face To Face Courses.
Although the classroom classes are how its been done for many years. The computer is used
widely these days, so online courses are recommended by the future students. Many of todays
college students want to remain in there communities, for us here in the Yukon Flats District of
Alaska we live in villages and the online classes are more suitable.
The on campus courses requires classroom attendence on a certain time and are stacked with work, which in some cases they feel have no time to complete. Students who leave the villages for the city life, find it difficult to adjust to the instructors method of teaching , through the lectures. So it quite hard for them to get the study habits down.
Being onlins is more suitable form some, where the students can do the work in there own time, in whatever atmosphere, have more quite time to finish their homework. You can also read the material in a better fashion, No carrying of tons of books.
